Tulamben

Tulamben is a small village situated in the Northeast coast of Bali. The diversity of Fish and Corals together with the USS Liberty shipwerck make of it the best diving destination in Indonesia and one of the best in the world.

Divers may occasionly encounter Mola-Mola Sunfish, Hummerhead Sharks and whale sharks and the exceptional USS Liberty shipwreck that lies in the shallow waters that is accessible from shore and for all levels divers together with the diversity of Corals and Fish makes of it a great diving destination for Divers.

The USS Liberty was hit by a japanese torpedo during the WWII and the ship was semi-beached at Tulamben port, in 1963 and during a volcanic eruption of mount agung the ship slid further down the slope where it currently reside.

The wreck lies in depths from 9-30 meters (30 to 100 feet) ; the shallowest part of the wreck is at 5 to 10 meters (16 to 32 feet) .The wreck is 120 meters long (390 feet) , its pretty broken up so no penetration is possible but you can still see the guns , toilets, anchor chain...
With a visibility ranging from 20 to 30 meters (66 to 100 feet) and limited or no currents it is by far the easiest wreck dive in the world.
