Cool Scuba Facts

In this post we will state some facts on Scuba diving...

Who can scuba Dive??
Almost anyone can learn to scuba... There is a basic level of health and fitness that you need to have in order to be safe and to enjoy your time underwater.

What Does the Word S.C.U.B.A stand for?
The word S.C.U.B.A is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus
The term scuba origicnated during WWII, it was used to describe navy divers who used oxygen rebreathers to attack enemy ships from underwater. Today you can use the word scuba to refer to sport of scuba diving or to the equipment used by those who participate in the sport.

Who invented Scuba Gear?
The invention of the modern scuba gear system is credited to Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan. Their invention allows divers to breather from a tank of air on their back and exhale it into the water.

Sound Propagation..
Scuba  divers can't determine the direction of sound, as beneath the surface of water sound travels five times faster than it does in air. On land we just have a split second to determine the direction of a sound, but under water even a split second is not enough.

Last but not Least....
One of the most amazing facts about scuba diving is it is a drug. Once you have experienced this beautifully exhilarating sport, you cannot help but become addicted. You may become a scuba Junkie, craving your next underwater fix...
What a great way to enjoy life, LIVE TO DIVE
